The Center for Work and Democracy is proud to support and elevate the work of UNITE HERE Local 11. Join us for their on-campus event on April 8th:
Few efforts better exemplify the immigrant-led revitalization of the labor movement than the progressive labor union UNITE HERE Local 11. Local 11 has played a major role in Arizona politics in recent years, and has won major improvements in wages and working conditions for hospitality and food-service workers across Arizona and Southern California, including the nearly 600 food service workers it represents at ASU.
This fall, Local 11 expects to be engaged in organizing campaigns around the Valley as it seeks to win fair wages and working conditions for hundreds of local workers. For students interested in supporting workers and union organizing campaigns generally, Local 11 will be holding an information session on Tuesday, April 8 at 11:00-1:00 PM in Wilson Hall Room 516 to learn more about workers' rights on the job and how students can get involved.
