Biography

Carolyn Forbes joined the Center for Work and Democracy in February 2023. Prior to that, she was assistant director of the ASU Center for the Study of Religion and Conflict, where she facilitated research development and coordination of cross-disciplinary research projects across a broad range of issues concerned with religion in public life. With degrees in religious studies and industrial and labor relations, her research interests are situated at the intersection of religion, race and class. She has taught courses on religion and conflict in American religious history and women and religion. Prior to joining ASU, she worked with Wellness Networks and AIDS Care Connection (now UNIFIED-HIV Health and Beyond), and the UAW in Detroit, Michigan.
